The function of a stopwatch is to time an event
Events to be timed can be segregated into three distinct types:
Circuit Event
Where the event finishes at the same point that it began having completed one or more laps. MORE

Distance Event
Where the event finishes at a different point from which it began either non stop or with rest intervals along the way. MORE

Example: Rallying |
Game Event
Where a game or event starts and continues for a pre-determined period of time with time added for stoppages. MORE
